New Year, New Plan
Welcome to the New Year.
And, new changes. The biggest change is my hair color, which is transitioning to red. This should be fun.
Another big change is to this website. Yes, I know. I’ve been doing that a lot lately.
As I have probably written previously, I am building a creativity coaching business and have been thinking a lot about this topic. My goal was to have one site to combine my writing and my coaching.
I discovered that this was like putting square pegs into round holes.
I didn’t want to make my life more difficult but in attempting to join these two endeavors, I was making things that much more difficult than they had to be.
One of the realizations I came to is that if I want to accomplish my goals, I need to set very clear boundaries with my work. Boundaries are a good thing.
When I began this blog nearly three years ago, I only had some vague scattered thoughts about the things I wanted to write about. My main goal was to have an internet presence for my writing. And, things have been murky since then.
Current Happenings
I’ve learned a lot in the past three years and I want to be more directive in my work. In order to do this, I’ve created a new site specifically geared toward my creativity coaching. That site, www.thecreativityadvocate.com is in the process of being built, so if you head over there, you won’t find much.
The plan is to launch on February 13th – which interestingly enough is the same day I began this blog three years ago.
As for this site, it will have a new facelift, but the focus will be ‘All Things Life and Writing’ again.
I miss writing about everyday things. I miss writing about my work, my obsession with NaNoWriMo and my grandkids. I want to go back to that world.
The Plan
My goal is to continue my weekly posts here at www.achoekwater.com. Of course, life can get in the way and I make no guarantees, but this is my goal.
I will also be writing a weekly post on my other site, which I hope you will come check out February 13th.
One more thing, I will be sending out a monthly newsletter so please sign up for that. I will be sharing tips and ideas for creative living in each edition. So please stay tuned for that.
IWSG
This is the first Wednesday of the month, which means it is time for the Insecure Writers Support Group post. And, as it is January, I would like to tell you about my word of the year.
I’ve done this a number of times in the past years and it’s been interesting, to say the least. You can check out this idea simply by googling it.
After much consideration, and journaling, I’ve decided that this year, my word is FEARLESS.
Really?
For someone who needs to overcome fear each time something new comes along, this will be interesting.
Oftentimes, my word of intention has been an invitation to the universe. An invitation that says, I am open to anything – bring it on – good or bad.
Fearless may just be one of the words that challenges my world.
One of the ways I’ve decided to look at Fearless is that it doesn’t mean not being afraid. It simply means that I face situations head on and don’t avoid things just because of fear.
Do you see what I mean about this being a challenge word?
Did you decide on an intention word for the year? I would love to hear from you.
Did you decide to set some goals or resolutions? Please post those also so we can encourage you and, even help you stay accountable. We could all use the support and encouragement.
Until next time,
Angela

Hi, this is such a coincidence because my word for 2018 is also Fearless, I’ve decided to conquer all my fears and face them headlong.

Hi, A.C.! I don’t do resolutions. I suspect my resolutions invite the universe to knock me off course. My word for the year is kindness ~ towards others and myself. I’m pretty good at being kind to others, less so to myself. Wishing you all the best in 2018 ~ May it be fearless!

Thank you! I agree completely!
