    Milestones and Lessons

    This is my 50th post. This is a huge milestone for me. Last fall, when I first began to take my writing seriously, the idea of blogging caused panic attacks. Even when I began I couldn’t think past my next blog post. Now, here I am at 50 and officially not a beginning writer or blogger any longer. Here’s to many more posts.     May Day

    Today is a new day based on an old holiday meant for union. The holiday means little to today’s post. It was just a way to begin to discuss the things that have been on my mind for my life in the next couple of months. First a look back: I’ve finished both of my challenges for April. The A-to-Z Blog which was a challenge to write a blog post for each day of the alphabet. The result was posting six days per week on all manner of topics. It has been a great experience and I’ve learned a lot. I am excited to see how this challenge will help…

    Success

    How do we measure success? Making money? Publishing that book? Getting that promotion? All of these are measures of success but are they good ones? I believe that each  of us must decide what success looks like to us. In the past year I’ve made some changes in my life. I did get a promotion at my day job and discovered another world that I am still learning to navigate. Then I returned to my writing roots and have lit a fire. Finding a balance between the two has been incredibly difficult especially given the measures for success I’ve decided upon. Success means several things to me: 1.  Being published.…
